Dictionary — Data Credits

The Readflexes learner's dictionary links words that share a meaning — its synonyms, its translations between English, Spanish and Portuguese, and the related words its practice questions offer as choices — using the structure of the open wordnets below. The definitions and example sentences are written by Readflexes; no wordnet gloss or example text is reproduced.

• Open English WordNet — the Open English Wordnet team, derived from Princeton WordNet (Princeton University, WordNet License). Licensed under CC BY 4.0.
• Multilingual Central Repository (Spanish wordnet), as distributed by the Open Multilingual Wordnet. Licensed under CC BY 3.0.
• OpenWordnet-PT — Alexandre Rademaker, Valeria de Paiva and contributors, as distributed by the Open Multilingual Wordnet, which labels this copy CC BY-SA (the project itself publishes under CC BY 4.0). Readflexes follows the share-alike label: see the notice below.
• Collaborative Interlingual Index (CILI) — the Global WordNet Association, used to link the three wordnets by meaning. Licensed under CC BY 4.0.

Share-alike notice

The thesaurus data files in /dictionary/synsets/ contain Portuguese words from OpenWordnet-PT, whose Open Multilingual Wordnet copy is labelled CC BY-SA. Those files are therefore offered under CC BY-SA 4.0: you may copy and adapt them if you credit the sources above and share your version under the same licence. This notice covers those data files only, not the rest of Readflexes.
